The concert celebrates Britain’s most notable composers during the Romantic era. Featuring Concertmaster Denise Dillenbeck and Principal Horn Cheryl Staherski, Ethel Smyth breaks boundaries as she captivates the listener with her charming Concerto for Violin & Horn. Next Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s The Bamboula was inspired from the animated aforenamed Caribbean dance, and finally Edward Elgar’s masterpiece Enigma Variations came to fruition with musical parodies of his friends and supposedly contains a hidden mystery.
