Young Person’s Concerts

Introducing a New Generation to the Joys of the Symphony

Step back in time and experience the magic of a “Young Persons Concert” with the York Symphony Orchestra! Inspired by the legendary Leonard Bernstein, this is not your typical classical music event—it’s a vibrant, interactive journey designed to captivate young minds.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation, the orchestra will bring America’s musical story to life. The concert features stirring patriotic anthems of our founding along with iconic rhythms of Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

The excitement doesn’t stop there—your classroom can become part of the show! Students will have the incredible opportunity to compose a few measures of music that our professional musicians will perform live on stage. While designed for schools and homeschool groups, we warmly welcome community members to join in the celebration. Seating is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, so come share in the joy and witness the inspiring future of music unfold.
