Chair Naming Endowments

Recognizing and honoring major artistic positions within the York Symphony Orchestra is the hallmark of this elite level of leadership giving. More than one half of “Principal Chairs” and key “Artistic Professional Positions” bear the name of dedicated donors to the YSO. The first chair was endowed and named in 2015. This first phase has been focused on 21 artistic leadership positions. The funders of each chair receive an original framed sketch of the current tenured musician holding the “Chair.”

We graciously thank YSO’s friend and resident artist, Peter Danko, for his gift of these original sketches that are becoming cherished possessions by a growing number of YSO’s generous patrons.
